Appreciation..!

Happy Friday!

I thought this was cute..lol!  Reminded me of the 'knock-knock' joke, 'orange you glad I didn't say 'knock-knock'..lol?!

Okay, I'm not much of a Blogger and it seems like forever since my last blog..hmm..just had a flashback of my long gone Catholic days...

Well, almost done with my current commission.  I was hoping that I had enough fabric to crochet 2x 50in...ish rugs and one toilet set, but ~shrug~ you just never know until you get going into the task.  Fortunately..or maybe unfortunately..lol..I have plenty of stash here and I was able to find a lovely floral and one good sized ball of fabric from my 'Athena' rugs tucked inconspicuously inside of the couch when I was deep cleaning the sectional.

About a couple more weeks now and we all will be seeing which cozy new home 'Patience' will be going to!  When I was toying with the idea of the giveaway I thought , 'How hard can running a month long giveaway be?'  It pretty darn hard...lol!  The greatest and most rewarding part has been coming in contact and virtually meeting new crochet/rag rug lovers!

Yesterday I back tracked mentally and thought about the busy week and was again filled with appreciation for my blessings..here are some of them...and thank you for reading...

To Share or Not to Share...

It's the Friday after the fourth of July and I sit here remembering back on yesterdays chaotic memories and wonder about if I might have shared too much with my relatives.

Granted and thankfully, I didn't just go all out and abandon my verbal filter with a cringing tale of domestic woes with any of them but I'm wondering if it might have ended up leaving some of them with a negative impression of our visit.

Okay, what horrible faux pas could I possibly have committed?

Well..and particularly lately, I have spent almost all of my free time on 'Ronniengirls'.  I crocheted a four piece bathroom set which included the new rag rug shape heart that wasn't as difficult as I thought and which in the end turned out looking pretty awesome and loving to share, I couldn't pack all of my crocheted children in our Jeep fast enough!

Do you hate those parents that in one conversation, seem to go on and on and on and on about their children and all of their 'not to unique' talents/skills?  In fact I myself cringed inwardly as I overheard a relative of my husbands family who I had never met before, relating to recently leaving the employment of a very well known actor and then shortly afterward asking another family member why they were wasting their time working at a job they didn't 'enjoy'.  So..were some of my relatives cringing inwardly as I was doing my own bit of bragging?

Having begun my rag rug business going a little over six months now, I'm looking at things differently now.  Trying to find a mutually happier sharing experience.  Letting my viewed crafting and final rag rugs speak for themselves and taking the time and love of crafting to let me enjoy and experience the wonderful and beautiful crafts and skills of others.  On the flip side of my own remembered personal impressions, I fondly recall meeting and spending time with adorable baby Sophie and viewing and sharing the amazingly detailed penciled portrait done by my husbands youngest sister.

So I guess in the end, all of us at one time or another wonder when, how much and what to share with another.  Surely trust is an important factor in the equation.  But when you have gotten past that, there is a vulnerability and a test of inner strength in dealing with issues of egos and mutual acceptance.

I want to thank and acknowledge my own talented, and sometime quite amazingly self sacrificing family and loved ones who have continued to love, value and embrace me and my talents despite all of my own personal quirks and flaws!  I hope they all had a wonderful fourth of July, filled with lots of beautiful and great memories!

For the love of...

Usually when I have created my own webpage or tab, one of the last things I debate to myself on whether to add to it and share with others is..music.

In this case and with my small business 'Ronniengirls', music has very little to do with crocheting and my end crafted projects but it has always inspired and given me comfort as well as helping to stir my imagination.

I thought this might have been a good place to place a musical or musically inspired illustration to visually help make my point ^ but most who read this will no doubt call upon their own sentimental musical memory.  For me, there are so many..lol..that this small single blog space just isn't enough.

So this morning while mentally wrestling on whether to keep the radio widget on this blog page >, I asked my husband opinion on it and he also agreed that having the widget might actually take away from the overall crocheting theme of this blog.  I don't expect a lot of viewer feedback on whether it adds or takes away from reading it or not, but any viewer comments will be welcomed, appreciated and considered if I do indeed receive any!

One other thing that has delighted and quite wonderfully helped to illustrate my a few of my feelings on certain things are some of the too cute baby expressions that I have found on the web.  I of course have no idea on who these small bundles of joy belong to, but thank you to the individuals, parents and of course the babies who help to make this world a happier place!
Mostly these days, I've noticed that I use these two main things...A LOT..lol..these..!!!!! and these.. :D  They make me happier when I share on the web.  I have no idea on whether they irritate, help to get my feelings across or make no impression at all..but I <3 finding, meeting and sharing with like minded web users and I hope using these helps to illustrate that desire and intent to who ever views them.

Well..lol..since this is supposed to be a blog on 'My Thoughts on Rag Rugging', once I fulfill my promise to my youngest daughter to help her clean her room, I am looking forward to preparing more fabric for my dark Aqua, Browns, Blue and White Mod patterned rag rug!  If I have enough fabric after crafting the rag rug, I want to craft a matching pillow for it.  I have a good amount of fabric for the project and I'm excited to see just how big it's going to be. :D

Time to take another sip of java before venturing into my youngest room..lol..thanks for reading!

On a Saturday night

I was happy and delighted with how well 'Desert Rose'
turned out last night!

Desert Rose

The fabric matched perfectly!

I'm pretty excited about sewing the pillow with my new machine.  I will be saving so much time not having to sew it all by hand!  The back and main part of the pillow will be in the same black fabric as what I used in Shannon's rug and filled with soft cotton.  I will take and post another picture of the finished pillow when it's done!

I'm looking to begin another rag rug project on Monday which I have posted of either the purple patterned fabric or the cool mod one (aqua's, tan + white). :D

I hope you're all enjoying your Father's Day weekend and thank you for taking your time to read this!
